Who Are These Crazy Actor Educators

Time Travelers Children’s Theater consists of actor educators who use theatrical shows to educate elementary-age children in history, science, math, etc. We primarily focus on telling historical stories through science experiments, professional live-screen video visuals, mini-games, and hands-on activities. It is our goal to actively demonstrate to children that learning can be fun and exciting.

Simply put, an actor educator is a person who uses theatrical performances to teach various subjects.

How We Produce The Magic

Our shows are performed with an approach we call our “dynamic learning theory”.  Put simply, our theory focuses on taking historical stories, children's story books, or current-day stories and turning them into dynamic educational theater shows filled with science experiments, larger-than-life video projections, mathematics, language arts, etc.

 

Our shows heavily tap into what we in the time traveler universe call "the imagination." By tapping into "the imagination" we are able to harmoniously relate science experiments to different stories of the past, present, or future. This eclectic combination of subject areas and theater techniques not only allows us to teach two or more subjects at one time but also allows us to hit every major learning style including but not limited to reading comprehension, language arts, auditory learning, tactile learning theories, kinesthetic learning theories, visual learning theories, etc.

 

This approach engages children in a fun and interactive way while simultaneously teaching them challenging academic subjects.

Where do These Dynamic Actors Perform?

Time Travelers Children's Theater proudly serves Missouri and Illinois. We make seeing a professional educational theater show easy and accessible for schools, libraries, summer camps, etc.

We do this by traveling directly to the school, summer camp, library, birthday party, etc. So there is no need to bus 300 kids to a performance venue—we come directly to you!

These individuals are don’t just tell stories; they immerse children in them, using interactive storytelling, problem-solving activities, and multi-sensory experiences. Our performances integrate STEM concepts, literacy skills, and historical narratives into a single seamless experience, proving that learning isn’t just about memorization—it’s about experiencing, questioning, and discovering.

 

But let’s take a step back for a moment. The reality is, many children struggle to find joy in traditional learning. Studies show that a significant number of students disengage from education at an early age, not because they lack potential, but because they haven’t been given the right tools to connect with learning in a meaningful way.
